Joseph Anthony Mariotti, 77, of Butler, with his family by his side during his battle of declining health, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at Lowrie Place.

Born Jan. 9, 1948, in Butler, he was a son of the late Mario “Jeep” Mariotti and Antoinette Cherry Mariotti.

Joe was employed for 31 years as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service. He belonged to American Legion Post 117 of Butler, and he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by one son, Joseph James “Jay” Mariotti and his wife Michelle “Shelly,” of Butler; two sisters, Lucy Malis and her husband, Jim, of Butler, and Ida Mariotti, of Butler; one beloved brother, Ralph Mariotti, of Butler; and two granddaughters, Gianna Lynn and Angelica Jaymes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charity A. McCommons Mariotti, who passed away Feb. 11, 2024.

MARIOTTI — There will be no visitation, and services will be private for Joseph Anthony Mariotti, who died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME SOUTH SIDE, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
