Eileen M. “Leanie” Brandt, 78, of Mars, formerly of Butler, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2025, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless Hospital.

Born in Butler on March 3, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Vivian H. Rose Beck Sr.

Eileen was a social worker for Catholic Charities in Butler.

She was a member of All Saints Parish at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She also was a member of Caring Hearts and SilverSneakers.

Over the last two decades, Eileen enjoyed making, sending and donating thousands of handmade greeting cards to share with her family, residents in nursing homes and elementary school students.

Many people knew her as the card lady. It brought her great joy to connect with others through her card making.

She was the mother of Rebecca J. Fickes (Matthew), of Valencia, Victoria Brandt, of Oakland Township, Rachel Lane (Adam), of Fayetteville, Ga., and Matthew J. Brandt (Faith), of Casa Grande, Ariz.; grandmother of Andrew (Shadely), Sebastian, Jacob, Eliza, Madison, Makenna, Kennedy, Lincoln and Noah; and sister of Ruth Roberts (Dwight), of Natrona Heights, Agnes Grabowski, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Frank Beck (Nick), of Sarasota, Fla. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert T. Brandt, whom she married Aug. 2, 1969, and who died Oct. 4, 1996; a sister, Margaret Calabrese; and two brothers, Paul Beck Jr. and James Beck.

BRANDT — Friends of Eileen M. “Leanie” Brandt, who died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, with Father John Baver officiating. Please meet at the church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Butler.
