Four western riders on the Butler equestrian team have qualified for the Zone 2 Finals March 27.

Carissa Chilcott, Olivia Eagal, Madeline McEachin and Dakota Roy will compete against other riders from New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. If they finish first or second in those finals, they will advance to the National Finals April 28 to May 1 in Upper Marlboro, Md.

Riders must attain at least 15 points per class to participate in the Zone 2 Finals. Chilcott has 16 points in Intermediate Horsemanship and 15 in Intermediate Reining. Eagal has 16 in Beginner Horsemanship.

McEachin has 16 in Future Beginner Horsemanship and Roy, of South Butler, has 16 points in Open Reining.

Other team members and their point totals include Taylor Garvin (10 in Intermediate Horsemanship, nine in Intermediate Reining), Laurel Johnson (8 in Intermediate Horsemanship, 11 in Intermediate Reining), Larissa Lesney (12 in Novice Horsemanship) and Taylor Boscia (four in Future Beginner Horsemanship),

Butler’s hunt seat riders have two or three shows remaining in the regular season. Top point-getters include Miranda Stoner with 11 in Novice Flat and Sarah Stovar with 10 in Novice Fences, 10 in Intermediate Flat.

Others include Chilcott with seven in Intermediate Fences, 6 in Intermediate Flat, Shannon Stovar with seven in Future Novice Fences and five in Future Intermediate Flat, and Alexis Miller with four in Future Beginner Flat.
