Stephen Candalor, 68, of Portersville, passed away at his residence Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, following an illness.

Born June 30, 1957, in Ridgway, Pa., he was the son of the late Sam and Viola “Tina” Millard Candalor.

He graduated from Clarion State College and had a career in retail management.

In his younger years, he devoted his life to woodworking, crafts and pottery. Later, he friended Nina Heathcote and became a close friend and father figure to her children.

He is survived by six siblings, Rita (John) Armanini, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Cecelia Candalor, of Pittsburgh, Michael (Laurie) Candalor, of Springfield, Va., Patricia Candalor, of Pittsburgh, David (Jackie) Candalor, of St. Marys, Pa., and Mark (Mary Kay) Candalor, of St. Marys, Pa.; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; dear friends, John and Laurel Englert; and his second family, Nina Heathcote, her children and their families.

CANDALOR — Family and friends of Stephen Candalor, who died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon Friday, Nov. 21, at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME, 387 Main St., Prospect. There will also be a Candalor family gathering at a later date.
