The Musicians' Concert Band, under the direction of Blasé Scarnati, professor emeritus of music at Slippery Rock University, will present "Side by Side III - A Tradition of Quality" at 8 p.m. Thursday in SRU's Miller Auditorium. Admission $2.
The First Annual Rolling Rock for Cancer concert featuring the Jentz Band will take place July 23 at the Beacon Hotel. Proceeds will benefit the Ethel Rovito Cancer Foundation Inc. The event will begin at 4 p.m. with an old fashioned cook-out, bonfire give-aways and raffle. The Jentz will play an adults only show at 9:30 p.m. ID required. The cost for the tickets are $9 per person and $16 per couple in advance; tickets will be $10 per person at the door.
<B>Downbeat in the District</B>, a summertime jazz series held outdoors in the Agnes R. Katz Plaza at Seventh and Penn Avenues, across the street from the Benedum Center, will present Joe Negri from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. In the event of rain, the concert will be held on Wednesday.
