Peters Township knocks out North Catholic in WPIAL girls volleyball semifinal
No. 6 North Catholic fell a win short of competing for a WPIAL title and clinching a spot in the PIAA tournament.
Two-seed Peters Township swept the Trojanettes 3-0 Wednesday night in the WPIAL Class 4A girls volleyball semifinals, winning by set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-20 to advance to Saturday’s final against No. 5 Pine-Richland, which beat top-seed North Allegheny 3-0 in the other semi.
The WPIAL sends two teams in 4A to the state tournament.
PT rallied in the second set from down 23-19 to pull off an impressive win and set up the sweep.
