Robert Wayne Stewart
Robert Wayne Stewart, 79, of Connoquenessing Township passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 21, 1933, in Beaver County, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Dorothy (Paulin) Stewart.
Bob spent his childhood from age 6 to age 18 at the Lutheran Children's Home, now Glade Run, in Zelienople. He was a 1952 graduate of Zelienople High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He was employed for many years as a welder, lastly with Pullman Standard in Butler. He and his wife opened Stewart's China at Eppinger's in Portersville in 1972, and he acted as the owner and manager until his retirement in 2005.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy (Curry) Stewart, who he married June 6, 1958; his sister, Barbara Houston of San Francisco, Calif.; his sister-in-law, Linda Nye of Zelienople; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alberta Cramer, and his brother, Harry Stewart.
