J. Gary Hiles

J. Gary Hiles, 70, of Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, died Thursday at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

Born Aug. 24, 1937, in Bradys Bend Township, he was the son of John C. and Gladys C. Young Hiles.

He was a 1956 graduate of East Brady High School, and he retired from Amerikohl Mining in Butler in 2000. He was a former Bradys Bend Township supervisor and retired in 2006 because of health problems.

Mr. Hiles was a member of St. Paul Community Church of Sugarcreek Township and a lifetime member of the Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.

Surviving are his wife, Kaye F. Fowler Hiles, who he married June 28, 1958; three sons, James Hiles of Bradys Bend Township, Michael Hiles and his wife, Lisa, of Sherett and David Hiles and his wife, Jerilynn, of East Brady; a sister, Mrs. George (Pat) Hazlet of West Sunbury; a brother, William Hiles and his wife, Judy, of Rimersburg; a half-brother, Blair Hollobaugh and his wife, Shirley, of Transfer; three grandsons, Brian Hiles of Seybertown, Walker Hiles of Bradys Bend Township and Logan Moroney of East Brady; and two granddaughters, Brooke Hiles of Seybertown and Ashley Hiles of Sherett.

He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Delmar Hollobaugh.

<B>HILES</B> — Friends of J. Gary Hiles, who died Thursday, April 17, 2008, will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Community Church, Sugarcreek Township, with the Rev. Randall Forester, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard Laube Cancer Center, 1 Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201.
