BUTLER TWP — The Butler Human Resources Association and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Human Resource Forum at 8 a.m. May 16 at the Butler County Community College’s Succop Theater.

The theme this year is, “Strategic Patterns: How to Maximize Organizational Success through Human Resources,” and features a breakfast buffet, business expo, keynote speaker and breakout sessions.

Michael Couch, owner of Michael Couch & Associates, will talk.

Two sessions are being offered: Leadership in your Organization by Annamarie Lang and James Court from Development Dimensions International and From Linkedin to Linked Together by Ron Kubitz, Recruiting & Training Manager at Brayman Construction.

Cost is $15 per person, with expo space available at $50 per space. Cost includes a 6-foot table, chairs and one admission to the forum.

SAE hires industry relations directorWARRENDALE — SAE International has hired Andrew Smart as its new director of Industry Relations and Business Development.Smart will be responsible for communication between SAE International and aerospace, automotive and commercial vehicle executives, as well as developing new business.Smart comes to SAE from Ricardo Inc., where he was vice president of business development and marketing. He has more than 30 years of business experience.The British-born Smart has a bachelor’s of engineering degree with commendation. He is a chartered engineer, a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a member of SAE International since 1997, and a naturalized U.S. citizen.

East Brady man gets IT positionPITTSBURGH — Luke McClain of East Brady has been hired by 4CTechnologies as a network engineer.McClain earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Clarion University, and has three years of IT experience.He was hired to help with an increase in 4CTechnologies business.

Butler County bar nominated for awardThe Butler County Bar Association is being nominated for a national award for its pro bono work.The Harrison Tweed Award is given annually by the American Bar Association and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.The association has been nominated by county Judge Marilyn Horan.The bar’s pro bono work is through the Butler County Consumer Credit/Residential Foreclosure Diversion Program.It offers education, credit counseling, legal advice and communication between plaintiffs and defendants in consumer credit and residential mortgage foreclosure cases.The bar association provides administrative support and free legal aid with 88 attorneys spending three to four hours each with clients.
