Roberta J. Weiland
Roberta J. "Pootsie" Weiland, 79, of Butler died unexpectedly Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 2, 1927, in Bruin, she was a daughter of Mark and Mary Harriet Smith Stillwagon.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Fretz Moon Tube Co. in East Butler. She also had been the tax collector for Summit Township for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Weiland was an active member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. She also was a member of the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and the Tri-State Country Music Association. She was a former member of the East Butler Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and entertaining her friends and family in her home.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur S. "Jake" and George E. Weiland, both of Butler; three daughters, Jane A. Bauldoff, and her husband, Dan, of Fenelton, Anna M. Smith of Oil City and Kathleen G. Weiland of Butler; 12 grandchildren, Brian and Travis Weiland, Daniel, Phillip and Patrick Bauldoff, Thomas and Peter Smith, Dylan Charlton, Elizabeth Smith, Meagan Weiland, Jessica Johns and Leesa Charlton; and three great-grandchildren, Drake Weiland and Blaise and Elijah Dobson.
She also is survived by a brother, Mark Stillwagon of Volant, and a sister, Eileen Welchley of Butler.
Her husband, Arthur U. Weiland, whom she married Jan. 22, 1949, died Oct. 30, 1983. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, with the Rev.
