College sports roundup: Tori Stevenson scores 4th goal of season in Grove City win

Tori Stevenson, a Butler High grad, scored her team-leading fourth goal in Grove City College women’s soccer’s 2-0 win over Geneva on Tuesday.

The Wolveries (3-4-2, 2-0-1 PAC) host Thiel on Saturday.

SRU men get 1st PSAC win

Jimmy Irani scored in the 51st minute, leading Slippery Rock men’s soccer to a 1-0 victory Wednesday over visiting Lock Haven. SRU improved to 3-3-1 overall, 1-0-0 in PSAC play.

Rock women drop 1st PSAC game

On the flip side, SRU women’s soccer was blanked 3-0 at Gannon, losing its first PSAC clash of the season to the undefeated Golden Knights (8-0-0, 5-0-0). SRU is now 4-3-1 (4-1-0).

Rock FH blanked by IUP

Slippery Rock field hockey dropped a second straight PSAC game Wednesday, 5-0 at IUP. The Rock are 3-5 (0-2).

5 make ITA regional

Slippery Rock women’s tennis is sending a handful of players to this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region championships at Bloomsburg University.

Defending singles champion Amaia Balaguer Brau headlines the contingent. Doubles pair Alissia Kivi and Nicole Kempton are the No. 2 seed in the field; both will also compete in singles matches. Also competing are Dari Sakhanova and Nadia Rodewald in singles and doubles.
