LeeAnna Porter
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt LeeAnna (Carnahan) Porter, 79, of Butler, who was called home on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, after a short illness at Butler Memorial Hospital.
LeeAnna and her twin sister, Leslie, were born Jan. 21, 1946.
LeeAnna had a passion for horses that began in her childhood that she shared with her dearly departed husband, Art Porter.
Together with the Amish, they raised a 20-stall horse barn on Reimer Road in Sarver, adjacent to the Kelly farm, where they enjoyed spending time with all their animals, family and friends alike, going on trail rides, pony cart pulling and boarding horses for several years.
LeeAnna held several jobs through the years and took great pride in having a servant’s heart, always offering to lend a hand to anyone with a need.
She was a lifelong member of Mount Nebo Church in Prospect, and had an extensive collection of all kinds of bears and stuffed animals, which she loved.
LeeAnna is survived by her brother, Gilbret Polliard (Lucille); a son, TJ Richardson (Linda), of Royal Valley; three grandchildren, Nick and Isaabella Richardson, of Pittsburgh, and Mathew Trego, of Royal Valley. She also leaves behind her sweet cat and companion, Harley. A nephew, Wade Peters (Linda), and several other extended family members also survive.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Art Porter, on Nov. 14, 2005; her mother, Grace Carnahan, on May 22, 2001; her twin sister, Leslie D. Peters on Oct. 11, 2010; her sister, Barbara Oswald, on March 20, 2006, her brother-in-law, Joseph Oswald, on May 4, 2004; and her great-niece, Alicia R. Peters, on March 9, 2024.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Mount Nebo Church in Prospect, officiated by Jason Sanagra.
