Jennie E. Higgins Jamieson, 89, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 26, 2025, in Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Jan. 27, 1936, in Mapleton, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Lillian Dow Higgins.

Jennie graduated from Butler County Community College. She was quite proud of attaining a perfect score on her LPN nurses board. She worked as an LPN at St. John’s LAS in Mars for 10 years, retiring in 1994.

She was a loving and caring person and supported her husband in his ministry at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Evans City.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dr. William Jamieson, with whom she celebrated their 67th Anniversary in September; one daughter, Laurel (Roger) Lohrey, of Ohio; one son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Jamieson, of Meridian; and three grandchildren, Erica Jamieson, Martin Zanicky and Stuart Lohrey.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Ward, Phyllis Kierstead and Bonnie Higgins; and one brother, Malcolm Higgins.

JAMIESON — Friends and relatives of Jennie E. Higgins Jamieson, who died Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, Evans City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, from Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Evans City, with the Rev. Lauren Bosserman, pastor of Westminster United Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Jennie will be laid to rest in the Evans City Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial donations be made to BC3, The Jennie Jamieson Scholarship Fund, 107 College Drive, Butler, PA 16001; or to the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
