Saxonburg woman charged with assaulting officer sees additional charges filed
A Saxonburg woman charged with assaulting a police officer had additional charges filed against her on Thursday, Sept. 11, regarding an Aug. 1 crash in Jefferson Township, where police say she drove drunk with a 15-month-old child in the vehicle.
Natalie Sue Perschke, 32, of Saxonburg, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of reckless endangerment and DUI Thursday. She was previously charged Aug. 4 with felony assault of a law enforcement officer and one misdemeanor count each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest regarding the same incident.
Police said they were dispatched to a residence on Brian Drive for reports of an intoxicated woman smashing objects in the residence. The woman left the residence with a 15-month-old child before police arrived, according to an affidavit.
Police canvassed the area and found a stop sign with fresh damage laying on the ground at the intersection of Janice Lane and Fisher Road.
Police then located Perschke at another area residence. Police said the woman then assaulted an officer when being taken into custody.
Police said Perschke’s blood alcohol content after the incident was 0.119%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Perschke was incarcerated in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail, which has since been posted.
Her preliminary hearing in the officer assault case is scheduled for 3 p.m. Oct. 14 before District Judge Jack Ripper. The second preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 18 before Ripper.
