Davis

Patricia L. "Chief" Davis, 76, of Grove City died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at her residence.

Born June 22, 1931, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Sayles Warner and Helen Kile.

She was retired from Cooper Energy Services, where worked for 37 years and was a foundry supervisor. She was the first female supervisor in the company.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City and a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.

Mrs. Davis enjoyed camping and traveling, and she hosted an annual family and friends pig roast at her home for the past 28 years.

After she began bowling at age 16 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, she had bowled in 17 different leagues in Pennsylvania and Ohio throughout her life.

She was inducted into the Mercer County Bowling Hall of Fame for her superior achievements in 1993. She also served as an officer in both the Knox County, Ohio, and Grove City Bowling Associations. In Knox County she served as the president and vice president, and in Grove City as the secretary and treasurer.

She was a director on the Pennsylvania State 600 Club and president of Crossroads 600 Club in Grove City.

Surviving are her six children, Randall E. Davis and his wife, Marion, of New Wilmington, Daniel L. Davis and his wife, Aletha, of Tionesta, Paul E. Wirick and his wife, Linda, of Chehalis, Wash., Anne M. Davis of Mercer, Kathy Rihel and her husband, Paul, of Slippery Rock and Kristy Royle of Mercer; two sisters and their husbands, Betty Davis and John Kendall and Jayne Bavett and Don, both of Homeland, Calif.

Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudy L. Davis, who died Sept. 17, 2001; three grandsons, Dennis and Steve Dora and Ben Rihel; and a son-in-law, Bob Royle.

<B>DAVIS — </B>Friends of Patricia L. "Chief" Davis, who died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Cunningham funeral home, </B>306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.nm. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Willard Morse, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Grove City.Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Kathy Rihel.
