Donald R. Leasure

Donald R. Leasure, 74, of New Castle, went to be with his Lord at 5:45 p.m. Monday at his home after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in New Castle. He was the son of James Earl Leasure Sr. and Grace Elizabeth Clark Leasure.

He was a 1951 graduate of New Castle High School.

Mr. Leasure worked as a switching technician for 43 years at Bell Telephone.

He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War as a photographer.

He was the treasurer of the Lords of Castle Barbershop.

Mr. Leasure was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church where he was the treasurer and sang in the choir and quartet.

Surviving are his wife, Carol E. Schnur Leasure, whom he married on March 12, 1979; two daughters, Deanne L. Doran and Laura Beth Dadejko, both of New Castle; two sons, Donald "Rick" Leasure Jr. of Lexington, Ky. and Douglas P. Leasure of Paris, Ohio; two brothers Albert W. Leasure Sr. of New Castle and Russell M. Leasure of Maui, Hawaii; two sisters, Grace E. Thompson and Anna Gregor, both of Florida; and five grandchildren. Also surviving is his former wife, Peggy Allen.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Leasure; and three brothers, James Jr., Lester and Paul Leasure.

<B>Leasure</B> — Friends of Donald R. Leasure, who died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Rev. James Hockenberry will officiate.
