Voltz powers golf win

Shoots a 39 to help Knoch past Freeport

Knoch's golf team scored a 227-242 victory over Freeport at Butler Country Club Thursday afternoon.

Cory Voltz was the lone golfer to go sub-40, shooting a 39 for the Knights (2-4).

Freeport (2-3) was led by Nate Covey's 43.

KSAC Mega Match — Moniteau's Jacob Felsing earned medalist honors with a 35 at Hunter's Station Golf Club in Forest County.That effort helped the Warriors to a third-place finish in the team standings with 235 strokes. Clarion-Limestone won with 225.Also scoring for Moniteau were Dawson Wallace (44), Chason Rugg (50), Jesse Speicher (53) and Cade Barger (53).Broc Weigle and Evi Bliss both had a 51 for A-C Valley-Union, which placed seventh out of nine teams with 295.Alex Olczak carded a 45 for Karns City, which did not field a full team.
