CLINTON TWP — II-VI has acquired a supplier, Max Levy Autograph of Philadelphia, for an undisclosed amount.

According to a II-VI news release, MLA manufactures microfine conductive mesh patterns for optical, mechanical and ceramic components for applications such as circuitry, metrology standards, target calibration and suppression of electromagnetic interference from its 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Philadelphia.

The MLA team of research and manufacturing engineers also has developed technologies using electroforming and plating and microfine diamond contouring for precision patterns to service the medical and commercial markets.

Donald Sedberry, president and major shareholder of MLA, commented in the news release, “This acquisition provides an excellent opportunity to continue MLA’s long history of supporting our customers with advanced technology development, plus it sets in place a solid foundation for growth.”

During 2010, MLA became a qualified supplier to II-VI’s Exotic Electro-Optics subsidiary.

MLA’s 30-person workforce generated revenues of about $5 million for the 12 months ended Sept. 30.

Francis Kramer, president and chief executive officer of II-VI stated, “MLA adds products and technology well matched with the products and markets served by our Exotic Electro-Optics subsidiary.”
