Janice Cahan Horwitz

Janice Cahan Horwitz, 84, of Butler died at 6 p.m. Monday at her home.

Born June 1, 1924, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of Hyman Cahan and Ida Bigg Cahan.

Mrs. Horwitz was a homemaker. She was a member and past board member of Congregation B'nai Abraham. Mrs. Horwitz was a life member of the Hadassah and past president of the B'nai Abraham Sisterhood. She was an avid bridge player, life master and a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club.

Mrs. Horwitz is survived by her sister, Mrs. Edith Rosskam of Northbrook, Ill.; two nephews, William B. Rosskam III of Illinois; and Steven Rosskam of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horwitz was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Horwitz, who died March 26, 2005; and by two sons, Michael Cohn and Daniel Cohn.

<B>HORWITZ</B> — There will be no public visitation for Janice Cahan Horwitz, who died Monday, June 16, 2008.Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Congregation B'nai Abraham Cemetery with the Rabbi Walter Boninger officiating.Arrangements by <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Pittsburgh PA 16235.
