The end of summer was nigh on Sept. 10, 2008. The sky was clear, and temperatures were in the low- to mid-70s, allowing Nicholas Mangino, 3, of Edinburg, to take a cool dip into Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park’s South Shore.
The Butler County area was expected to see similar conditions the following day, but showers loomed for the weekend.
