Austin R. Anderson

Austin R. Anderson, 64, of Mars died Saturday evening at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Waynesburg on Jan. 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Dorland R. and Betty Louise Moore Anderson.

Austin graduated from Hopewell High School and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in guidance from Slippery Rock University. He was retired from Fox Chapel School District, where he was a physical education teacher and athletic coach. He also worked in the summer for J. & L. Steel, Aliquippa Works and most recently worked part time for Kohl's in Cranberry Township.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, golf, fishing, traveling and sports. He was a member of the River Forest Country Club in Freeport and Snap Fitness.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Gajarsky Anderson, who he married on July 25, 1969; a son, Carl Anderson (Jennifer) of Albany, N.Y.; a daughter, Jennifer Snyder (Doug) of Brooklet, Ga.; his grandchildren, Corinne and Connor Anderson and Drew Snyder; a brother, Dorland Anderson (Debbie) of Washington, Pa.; and a sister, Sondra Zuback of Raccoon Township.

<B>ANDERSON —</B> Friends of Austin R. Anderson, who died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. A Blessing Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
