Tom "Rat" Vollrath, 51, of Zelienople died Wednesday at his home.

Born June 6, 1956, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Robert C. Vollrath of Zelienople and the late Helen Schaudt.

He was self-employed in lawn care service and he assisted many business owners in Zelienople.

Mr. Vollrath enjoyed drawing and bicycles and he loved animals.

He is survived by his wife, De Gebhardt Vollrath; his father of Zelienople; a brother, Douglas Charles Vollrath of Evans City; a stepbrother, Mark Vollrath; and a stepsister, Melissa and Keith Richards.
