Adams Township approves plans for Henley Lofts

ADAMS TWP — Township supervisors granted final approval to land development plans for Henley Lofts, a proposed apartment complex to be situated at the intersection of Route 228 and Park Avenue, during their monthly meeting on Monday night, Aug. 25.

Plans for the complex call for a single building consisting of 45 apartments on a currently undeveloped 8.715-acre plot of land. According to Butler County property records, the plot of land changed hands in May 2025 for the price of $1.23 million and now belongs to “Henley Lofts Ltd. Partnership.” The company’s listed address in Columbus, Ohio, matches that of Woda Cooper Companies, a real estate company specializing in affordable housing.

In previous versions of the land development plan presented to the board in April and May, supervisors took issue with plans for two entrances to and exits from the property, including one to/from Park Avenue, a township road.

The revised plans approved Monday night called for a single entrance to and exit from Route 228 only with the Park Avenue access eliminated. The access point will be a “right in/right out.”

One consequence of the change is the developers will need to use a township road to bring heavy construction equipment to the building site once construction commences, at least until the new road for the property is completed.

“They have to come in the back side of the property over one of our roads to get to the property to build the entrance out to 228,” Supervisor Russell Ford said. “We just wanted them to assure that they’re going to bond our road for us.”
