Margaret Mary Vincent
Margaret Mary Vincent, 76, of Butler, formerly of Chicago, and Tampa, Fla., died at 11:41 p.m. Dec. 19 at Alle-gheny General Hospital, with her daughters by her side.
Born Dec. 17, 1930, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Frank Hourihan from New Brunswick, Canada, and Mary Murphy Hourihan from Wexford, Ireland.
She was Catholic and had attended Navue Catholic Boarding School in Illinois.
Mrs. Vincent enjoyed classical music and singing, having sung for a brief time with the Chicago Symphony. She was an avid pianist. She loved to travel, garden and was an animal lover, especially of cats. Volunteering and helping others was a joy to her. Her children and grandchildren gave her great pleasure and she loved to attend their life events. She enjoyed reading and medicine. She truly loved life and was an advocate for everyone.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Vincent-Dodd of Butler, Joan M. Vincent of Tampa, Fla., and Jean Vincent-Ricker of Butler; a son, Michael K. VanVliet of Steamboat Plaza, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Holly Ann Dodd of Pittsburgh, Erik Ricker of Butler, Kristopher Ricker of Butler, Amberlyn Steighner of Butler and Trevor VanLiet of Montana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Afred "Al" Vincent, whom she married May 15, 1950, and who died June 2, 1995.
<B>VINCENT</B>— Friends of Margaret Mary Vincent, who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W.
