WEST CHESTER The Slippery Rock University women’s soccer team was bounced from the PSAC playoffs Friday, dropping a 4-3 penalty-kick decision at West Chester.

The teams played to a 2-2 overtime time, enabling SRU (13-3-4) to set a school-record 13-game unbeaten streak. The Rock was 9-0-4 during that time.

West Chester (17-1-1) advanced to the PSAC title game on the sixth exchange of penalty kicks. Golden Rams goalkeeper Lyndsie Bernardini made a save and Lara Bodenstab scored the game-winner for the hosts.

By NCAA rules, the game is officially recorded as a 2-2 tie for each team.

Shelby Ward scored for The Rock with 19 seconds left before halftime, tying the score at 1, and Rachel Knapp wrapped a corner kick into the net with 16:50 to play, giving SRU the lead.

Tara Malkiewicz drew West Chester even off a corner kick.
