Gremlins stay unbeaten

Karns City sophomore Dakota King boots his second of three goals Monday during the Gremlins' 6-3 soccer victory over Armstrong.

King scores 3 as KC soccer improves to 11-0

Dakota King scored three goals to spark Karns City to a 6-3 boys soccer win over Armstrong Monday afternoon at Diehl Stadium.

Nate Rondinelli had two goals and an assist and Owen Collwell a goal and three assists for the undefeated Gremlins (11-0).

Slippery Rock 3, Meadville 0 — Ian Balquist, Ryan Davey and Alex Duffalo scored for the Rockets (8-3, 6-0).

Kaleb Kuhn and Blake Whittenberg both had assists in the win.

Sidney Shemanski scored three goals and added an assist as Freeport shut out Apollo-Ridge, 7-0.Emma Check and Crystal Zembruzski both scored two goals and registered an assist. Maddy Zarichnak made four saves in goal.Freeport (9-2) travels to Indiana Thursday.

Emily Huff, Cassidy Nolan and Emma Clark each had seven kills as Karns City upended North Clarion, 3-1.The Gremlins won the match by scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-16.Peyton Turner totaled 16 assists, Rosalie Carden 12 assists, Ashley Fox 16 digs and Mackenzie Dunn 13 digs for KC.

Slippery Rock carded a 324 as a team, good for second place out of 21 teams at the Tam O' Shanter Invitational.Walker Allison shot a 73 to lead the Rockets, who were six strokes behind champion Grove City. Jacob Wolak carded an 80 for Slippery Rock, Logan Wolak an 82.Butler shot a 349 as a team. Colin Patterson paced the Golden Tornado with an 82.Deer Lakes 235, Freeport 239 — Jack Mason led the Yellowjackets (9-8) with a 41.
