Rider flown to hospital after motorcycle crash

A motorcycle rider was flown to a local hospital after colliding with a deer on East Portersville Road in Portersville.

According to assistant chief Todd Hinkle of the Portersville/Muddy Creek Volunteer Fire Department, the rider sustained a leg injury in the crash, possibly a compound fracture. A helicopter was called in to take the rider to the hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other occupants were on the bike.

Both the Portersville/Muddy Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Prospect Boro/Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
