Life-savers

On March 31 I was involved in an auto-truck accident on Eberhart Road at Evans City Road, better known as state Route 68.

I was southbound on Eberhart approaching the intersection when the driver’s side of my vehicle — Cranberry Taxi Cab 523 — was struck by an 18-wheeler.

Less than 2 minutes after I was hit, a Butler Ambulance unit was there to assist me. The paramedics helped me to relax as they cared for me and reassured me that I was going to be OK. They notified the Butler Township police and fire department to help get me out of my cab — I was pinned in my cab for more than 40 minutes.

All the while the paramedics continued working to comfort and reassure me as the firefighters cut apart my cab to get me out.

They all worked well together to get me out of my cab.

Thanks for great job and great teamwork, Butler Ambulance paramedics, Butler Township Fire Department and Butler Township Police Department for a great job by all and great teamwork.

As a former volunteer firefighter for 20-plus years I know what they had to do to get me out of my cab. It was not easy to sit there as they cut me out of the wreckage.

On behalf of myself David Wiskem Cranberry Taxi Company Driver Cab# 523 and my family, thanks for saving my life and a great teamwork getting me out. At a time like this we are all team members.
