CHERRY TWP — A healthy Moniteau is a dangerous Moniteau.

That point was evident in Wednesday's boys basketball game against East Forest.

Josh Loos and Tyler Armagost combined for 49 points and sophomore Zack McCormick, who had missed a four-game stretch due to injury, added 18 points as the Warriors pulled away in an 83-66 Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference victory.

"We've talked all season about getting healthy," said Moniteau coach Randy Armagost. "Getting Zack McCormick back made a big difference."

The Bears were able to stay within striking distance for most of the game, thanks to the performance of senior guard Corey Snyder, who scored a game-high 31 points, including nine 3-pointers.

"Snyder is a good shooter," said East Forest coach Jerry Thornton. "He shot 52 percent from 3-point range. We just didn't have an answer for Loos and Tyler and (McCormick), too."

The Warriors trailed 5-0 before using a 13-4 run, including eight points in a row by Loos, to take a 13-9 lead

With Moniteau (5-10, 4-8) leading 18-17 entering the second quarter, a 14-3 spurt opened a 32-20 lead with five minutes remaining until halftime.

Nine of those points came from Loos as he had 20 points in the first half. Snyder put up 14 points, 12 on four 3-pointers to make it 44-31.

The Bears (2-14, 0-12), however, could pull no closer than 12.

Loos finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Armagost had 23 points and 12 rebounds.

East Forest also received 17 points from Tyler Andring and 10 from Zach Miller.

The Bears finished the game with 12 3-pointers, but Moniteau was able to overcome the deep ball.

After posting its second consecutive win for the first time this season, Moniteau has scored 160 points in the process.

Not that the team will do an about-face the rest of the way, but Armagost knows teams will see a different Warriors team the second time around.

"I think we can make some noise," said Armagost. "I think we can make some teams sweat."
