Mary Ellen (Forbush) Kistner, 88, of Zelienople died peacefully Sunday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Township.

Born Jan. 2, 1921, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Sowers) Forbush.

Mrs. Kistner was a very active member of the North Sewickley Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years. She had also been a member of the Suburban Women's Club of North Sewickley Township. Mrs. Kistner had worked at the Knitting Mill in Ellwood City. She was also a seamstress and an Amway business owner. She enjoyed crafts.

She is survived by a brother, Chauncey Forbush and his wife, Ella Mae, of New Castle; a sister, Thelma Krepps and her husband, John, of Ellwood City; two granddaughters, Tammy Matye of Powell, Tenn., and Deanna Kistner of Williamsburg, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Betty K. Wright of Zelienople; and by three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob L. "Jack" Kistner, who died May 27, 2007; a son, Gary R. Kistner, who died Oct. 26, 2007; and a brother, Gordon H. Forbush.

<B>KISTNER</B> — Friends of Mary Ellen Forbush Kistner, who died Sunday, May 24, 2009, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
