Adams Township park hosting event on Aug. 16 to celebrate donation of AED

Adams Township Community Park

Adams Township Community Park recently received a donation of an automated external defibrillator and outdoor AED enclosure, courtesy of the Aliver Foundation and the Marsha Bazylak Memorial Fund.

To celebrate, the township is hosting a medical-themed community event at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 in partnership with Quality EMS, Adams Area Fire District and the Callery Fire Department. The event will feature interactive CPR and defibrillator demonstrations from Quality EMS, as well as a touch-a-truck for children.

The Aliver Foundation, founded in 2024, is a nonprofit dedicated to placing AEDs in outdoor spaces. The AED donated to Adams Township, a Heartsine Samaritan 350, was underwritten by the Marsha Bazylak Memorial Fund of the McKeesport Hospital Foundation.

“We are thankful to The Aliver Foundation and the Marsha Bazylak Memorial Fund for providing this lifesaving equipment, which strengthens our commitment to the safety and well-being of everyone in our community,” said Adams Township manager Mike Tylka.
