Smith

Faye Smith, 77, a resident of 821 Sunset Ave., Grove City, since 1970, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Harrisville, Dec. 16, 1931, she was the daughter of William Carlisle "W.C." McFadden and Ressa Elvera Phipps McFadden.

She married William D. Smith on Feb. 14, 1953.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Harrisville.

Faye graduated from Harrisville High School in 1949. Following graduation, she was employed by the Book-Davis Co., Grove City, until 1961.

She was a 50-year member of Chapter 86, Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Chapter 53, both of Grove City.

Collecting china and glassware was her favorite hobby. Faye worked for many hours completing a large number of beautiful quilts, many of which were given to her dear friends and family members.

Surviving are her husband, William D., at home; a daughter, Janet M. Smith of Grove City; a son, Scott D. Smith and his wife, Machelle, of Oil City; two grandchildren, Zachary and Abby Smith; a sister, Helen E. Gales and her husband, Ronald, of Mechanicsville, Va.; and a brother, Fred McFadden and his wife, Linda, of Grove City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mae Hawke; and four brothers, Earl, Paul, Bruce and Dale McFadden.

<B>SMITH</B> — Visitation hours for Faye Smith, who died Saturday, June 20, 2009, are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Route 8 North, Harrisville, with the Rev. Peter Puliatti, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
