Maureen Schmidt
Maureen Schmidt, 58, of Chicora died Friday as a result of an automobile accident on Route 38 in the county.
Born Aug. 16, 1948, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Powers Bowser.
She was retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, where she worked for more than 20 years as a nurse's assistant.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
She enjoyed making crafts.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Schmidt, whom she married July 25, 1970; a son, Justin Schmidt of Fombell; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ron (Elaine) Davidson of Butler and Mrs. Merle(Christine) McNeish of Connoquenessing; and two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, who also died in the accident; and a brother.
<B>SCHMIDT</B>— Friends of Maureen Schmidt, who died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
