James P. Hannigan

James P. Hannigan, 72, of Cranberry Township died Tuesday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless.

Born Jan. 5, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of James P. and Katherine Casper Hannigan.

Mr. Hannigan was a letter carrier and retired in 1987 from the U.S. Postal Service, McKnight Station.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Blawnox American Legion. He also was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Wexford.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy A. Humes Hannigan, whom he married Aug. 1, 1959; two daughters, Mrs. Al (Jodi L.) Novak of Butler and Colleen K. Kost of Valencia; a son, Todd Eric Hannigan of Warrington, Bucks County; three brothers, Charles Hannigan of Phoenix, Ariz., Martin Hannigan of Columbus, Ga., and Walter Hannigan of Shaler Township; and four sisters, Mildred Brame of Phoenix, Ora Edmundson of Shaler Township, Katherine Biernesser of Charlotte, N.C., and Aline Misitis of Tionesta. Five grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded by two brothers and two sisters.

HANNIGAN - Friends of James P. Hannigan, who died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 670 Pleasant Hills Road, Wexford, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Corll officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Marshall Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
