William J. Switzer
William J. Switzer, 78, of Connoquenessing died Saturday morning at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
His brother, Robert E. Switzer, also died the same day at his home in Parker.
Born Oct. 23, 1927, in Brick Church, he was the son of John and Margaret "Iona" Peters Switzer.
He was a World War II Army veteran and had worked at Pullman Standard for 27 years until it closed in 1982.
Mr. Switzer was a Protestant.
He was an avid bowler and was a life member and former chief of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company. He also was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping and snowmobiling
Surviving are his wife, Lois J. Lorigan Switzer, whom he married March 26, 1960; two sons, Darrell D. Switzer of Slippery Rock and Russell E. Switzer of Chicora; a daughter, Mrs. Steve "Billie" Godlewski of Tarentum; a brother, Ernest Switzer of East Brady, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
