SV lacrosse bows in PIAA
STATE COLLEGE — Sam Struss had four goals and Morgan Midkiff added three more, but the Seneca Valley girls lacrosse team fell to Penn Manor 18-10 in the first round of the PIAA playoffs Wednesday at Penn State University.
The Raiders, the WPIAL champions, had faced the Comets in the first round last year, dropping a 26-9 decision.
“We knew we had our work cut out for us,” said Seneca Valley coach Dina Hughes.
“The way we finished (WPIAL title) and they finished lower (the third seed out of District 3), we knew what was in store for us. We gave them a lot more competition.”
Kelly Cundiff, Paige Corathers and Taylor Mayeda each tallied a goal for the Raiders (15-5).
The Comets improved to 19-4.
