The Butler County Humane Society had some artists in residency in 2005.

The shelter had “Pawcasso Painting” fundraisers back then, where volunteers helped dogs paint pictures with their paws. The art was then sold to people at auction to raise money.

Two of the dogs in the shelter’s care, Cosmo and Blitz, made paintings for the sale on July 23, 2005.

The Pawcasso auctions were regular events for the humane society in the mid-2000s.
