Buffalo Township man dies in four-wheeler crash

Michael McGuire, of Buffalo Township, died at the age of 60 in a four-wheeler crash in Armstrong County, according to a news release from the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office.

The incident occurred in Madison Township, Armstrong County, where McGuire had a camp.

McGuire’s was last seen Friday, July 18. His body was found on Monday, July 21, according to the release. He was pronounced dead Monday morning by deputy coroner Timothy Graham.

According to the release, McGuire was fatally injured when the Yamaha Grizzly 4 he was operating went over an embankment, rolled and ended up in a ditch about 500 yards from the camp.

According to the release, McGuire was not wearing a helmet. No autopsy is planned. A toxicology report will not be available for several weeks.

The incident is under investigation by the state police and the coroner’s office.

Also assisting at the scene were state police; and the Distant, Rimersburg and Templeton-Pine volunteer fire departments.

State police did not respond to a request for comment.
