Orin M. McMaster, 80, of Baden, formerly of Richland Township, died Monday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law.

Born on Nov. 23, 1924, in St. Petersburg, Pa., he was the son of John Harvey and Nina Matilda Craig McMaster.

He worked for more than 35 years as a maintenance supervisor for Duquesne Light Co.

Mr. McMaster was a Navy World War II veteran who served through Omaha Beach. He was a lifelong member and past-commander of the American Legion Post 548 in Richland Township, VFW Post 7505 in Mars, and was a member of the National Large Landing Craft Infantry Association.

He was a member of the F&AM John E. Mair Lodge 729, and was active with the Islam Grotto.

He is survived by his children, David J. (Beth) McMaster of Middlesex Township, Patricia A. (Bernie) Lappe of Baden, Barry E. McMaster of Georgia and Douglas C. (Tammi) McMaster of George; a brother, Merle Dean McMaster of Virginia; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. McMaster was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores P. Herold McMaster, who died on Jan. 9, 2000. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Mae Winer and Gladys Maxine Zimmer, and a brother, John Kenneth McMaster.

McMaster, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Richland Township. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Stewart of the Bakerstown United Methodist Church officiating.
