Flash flood warning in effect for southern Butler County

The National Weather Service has extended a flash flood warning for the southern part of Butler County as of 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, July 16. The warning is now in effect through 10:45 p.m.

The warning covers Butler, Cranberry Township, Zelienople, Evans City, Chicora, Harmony, East Butler, Connoquenessing, Callery, and other municipalities. One to two inches of rainfall are expected in a one-hour period during the duration of the warning.

The National Weather Service advises drivers to turn around whenever they encounter flooded roads.
