Peter Richard Curdo
Peter Richard Curdo, 56, of Hook City Road, Bruin, passed away suddenly at 1:05 p.m. Sunday of natural causes while bicycling on the Bruin North Washington Road.
He was born in Butler on Jan. 27, 1952, and was a son of the late Peter J. Curdo and Catherine Louise "Katie" Zemba Curdo.
He served with the U.S. Navy and was stationed in China Lake, Calif.
He graduated from Karns City High School in the Class of 1970. He graduated from Butler County Community College and Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He enjoyed boating, biking, hiking, tennis, table tennis, weightlifting and kayaking on the Allegheny and Clarion rivers.
He retired from Witco in Petrolia as a production worker in 2003 after 33 years.
He married the former Sarah L. Bowser on Jan. 1, 1998, in Bruin. She survives along with a son, Grant Edward Curdo at home; two sisters, Mary Ann Curdo of Criswell Road, Karns City, and Kathy Lynn Curdo Vaughn and her husband, William, of Aliquippa; his stepmother, Patricia Curdo of Rimersburg; three stepsisters, Kim Rupp and her husband, David, of Rimersburg, Kathy Boothe and her husband, Gary, of Sligo and Karen Davis and her husband, Dana, of Rimersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his mother on Dec. 1, 2001; his father on Aug. 1, 2007; and a brother, Patrick Curdo.
<B>CURDO</B> — There will be no viewing. A memorial service for Peter Richard Curdo, who died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Church of God of Prophecy, Six Points, with the Rev. Jay Croyle officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home </B>in Petrolia.
