Barbara Ann Phillips
Barbara Ann Phillips, 73, of Gilfoyle Road, Marienville, died Saturday at Clarion Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1935, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna Fabus Geyer.
Barbara was married to Thomas Phillips on Aug. 3, 1957; he survives.
Mrs. Phillips and her husband owned and operated the Vowinckel Hotel in Vowinckel for the past 20 years. They previously lived in Butler for 30 years.
She was a member of the St. Mary Church in Crown and the Butler Moose.
She enjoyed cooking and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, David Phillips of Butler and Joseph Phillips and his wife, Celeste, of Butler; two daughters, Melinda Bernardi and her husband, David, of Turtlepoint, McKean County, and Melissa Kane of Coudersport; and two brothers, Paul Geyer of Pittsburgh and Donald Geyer and his wife, Carol, of Marienville. Twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A son, Thomas V. Phillips, and a brother, James Geyer, preceded her in death.
<B>PHILLIPS </B>— Friends of Barbara Ann Phillips, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian with Father James Murphy, pastor, officiating.
