William J. Bagdon

William J. Bagdon, 68, of Mars died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born Nov. 21, 1939, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late William C. and Nellie Stankavige Bagdon.

William belonged to the World Safety Organization, various community fire companies, was a Pennsylvania state fire instructor and worked with Boyce Control Fire Services and Mutual Aide Ambulance Services.

He was a safety engineer with The Travelers and Hartford Insurance groups and also worked at the Westinghouse Corp. in Cheswick.

A devout Christian, William was an ordained deacon with Gospel Fellowship PCA Church.

He was the loving husband for 43 years of Lena C. Coco Bagdon, whom he married Oct. 23, 1964; beloved father of Robert P. (Sandra) Bagdon of Hunker, Joel A. (Karen) Bagdon of Bakerstown and Christine Marie (Jeffrey) Parkhurst and Michelle A. (David) Gibson, both of Hampton Township; and uncle of Michelle Ann (Casey) Cojocaru. Also surviving are six dear grandchildren, Elizabeth, Paul and Katie Bagdon and Zachary, Leah and Megan Gibson.

<B>BAGDON</B> — Friends of William J. Bagdon, who died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gospel Fellowship Church, 161 McFann Road, Valencia. Private burial will be held Monday at Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.Donations may be made to PCA Ministerial Relief Fund, 1700 N.
