Prospect man charged with conspiracy, burglary attempt
A Prospect man conspired to burglarize a Jefferson Township home, state police said.
Micah D. Sporat, 44, was charged Monday, June 30, with two felony counts of criminal attempt at burglary and conspiracy to commit theft, as well as misdemeanor conspiracy to trespass following an incident on Valentine’s Day.
Police said a man reported a broken window in the master bedroom of his Jefferson Township home, located on the 200 block of Heller Road. He claimed several items had been misplaced or moved, including a pistol that was stolen from its safe box.
The man provided police with surveillance video of a man and woman attempting to enter the residence by breaking a window with a brick.
A screenshot of the video was uploaded to social media, where users identified Sporat and the woman, the report said. Police compared the photos to PennDOT records and determined them to be a match.
Police said Eppinger’s grandmother reported that she picked up Sporat and the woman at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 from the same block. The incident was reported at 5:30 p.m.
