The Twilight Wish Foundation granted a wish for a Butler resident Saturday, June 28, by taking him to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play.

According to the foundation, Carl Selfridge is a Navy veteran and has not been able to attend a Pirates game in many years after suffering a stroke. Now, at 90 years old, he wished to see one last game in person.

Selfridge and fifteen of his family members attended the Pirates vs. Mets game on Saturday. He was also presented with an official Pirate jersey with his last name and age on his back.

Selfridge also received a baseball bat signed by Andrew McCutchen and a baseball signed by Paul Skenes, his two favorite players.

“The Butler County Twilight Wish along with Pirate Charities were thrilled to provide this wish to Carl,” Jean Bowen, a member of the county chapter, said.
