Tsunami aid being raised by students
As part of their Caring Habits Adventure, students at Butler Catholic School have donated $1,600 to the victims of the tsunami disaster.
The entire school adopted the Caring Habits program, founded by Elaine Parke of Zelienople, the author of "Join the Golden Rule Revolution." The theme for January is "Lend A Hand," and students are encouraged to reach out to others less fortunate than themselves.
The donations will continue through Catholic Schools Week, which begins Jan. 31. Seventh and eighth graders will sell bright blue bracelets for their Operation Relief project.
All proceeds will be donated to Catholic Charities.
