Cancer benefit honors Pausch

GIBSONIA — A "Hooray for Hollywood" fundraiser Friday will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in remembrance of Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon University professor who died in 2008 from pancreatic cancer but not before he delivered his "Last Lecture" that became a uTube phenomenon and a subsequent book.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road, with a wine and cheese reception with kicker Jeff Reed of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Auction items will be from the Penguins, Steelers and Jay Leno, among others.

Jeff Zaslow, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, who co-wrote "The Last Lecture" will attend.

In the "Hollywood" show, 16 actors will play 142 roles as they spoof some of the greatest movies of all time.
