The Adams Township Supervisors on Monday night:Re-appointed William Pettigrew to the township's water authority and hired zoning office secretary Cori Bogdanich.Approved final plans for the Jon Williams subdivision, a two-lot, 10.5-acre subdivision of Glade Run Road near the border with Middlesex Township. The property currently has an existing home. A second home for the property owner's son is planned on the second subdivided piece. The two lots will be four acres and 5.5 acres.Approved the sale of the township's 1982 Ford police car and a 1977 Ford L900 truck.Scheduled a public hearing on proposed changes to its zoning and subdivision and private building code regulations for 7 p.m. March 7 at the township municipal building off Three Degree Road.Approved buying a new desk in the township's zoning office at a cost not to exceed $1,200.
The Slippery Rock School Board Monday:Heard from Michelle Pauk and other parents concerned about music at the fifth grade level. Pauk said she heard the fifth grade band program would be eliminated. Board president Brad Smith said no decisions had been made on the subject and a presentation on the district music program is planned for next month's board meeting at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at Slippery Rock Middle School.Raised the rate of pay for tax collectors from $7.50 to $8 per real estate tax card for July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2010. The collectors' pay rate is set every four years.Approved a supplemental contract for Jason Papinchak as band director at Slippery Rock High School.Heard from Barbara Bicehouse, a Slippery Rock Area Elementary School cafeteria worker, who was concerned the district was considering hiring a food service company to take over the workers' duties. Board president Brad Smith told her no discussions have been held on the subject.
