East Brady man charged in police chase, DUI crash
An East Brady man was charged with aggravated assault after police say he fled after crashing while driving under the influence of alcohol.
Brady Nathaniel Seybert, 19, was charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, felony fleeing and eluding; and three misdemeanor counts each of reckless endangerment and DUI following the April 27 incident in Fairview Township.
State police in Butler said they followed Seybert’s vehicle with three other occupants from a bar and detected signs of impairment before conducting a traffic stop.
Police said they lost sight of Seybert’s vehicle when he accelerated to approximately 90 mph down Route 268 southbound.
According to police, Seybert drove onto an embankment, struck a utility pole and rolled the vehicle in the crash.
Police said Seybert was treated at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and had a blood alcohol content of 0.178%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Seybert’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Lewis Stoughton is pending.
