Barry J. Kingman

Barry J. Kingman, 57, of Butler died peacefully at his home on Tuesday of pancreatic cancer.

Born in Chicago, he was the son of Merle and Melva Kingman.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with distinction and received a master's degree in history and education from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He served for five years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, West Africa.

Upon returning to the United States, he began a career in business, which included human resources management responsibilities, first for Burns International Security Services and then as a founding officer for US Investigations Services (USIS). As USIS grew, he was proud to be involved in creating a significant number of new jobs for this area.

It was, however, his personal relationships that meant the most to him. He wanted to be remembered for his devotion to family, loyalty to friends and commitment to colleagues.

Barry Kingman is survived by his wife, Penelope; a son, Sidney of Randallstown, Md.; a daughter, Louise of Butler; a sister, Dorian Chong of Berkeley, Calif.; and two brothers, Anthony of Chicago and Jeffrey of Vallejo, Calif.; and their families.

KINGMAN - Burial for Barry J. Kingman, who died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, will be private. A memorial service will be announced later.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YWCA of Butler County, 120 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001.
